The TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award celebrated Switzerland's best startups according to a 100-person strong jury on September 3 in Zürich. Over the past 15 years, the award evolved into one of Switzerland's key platforms for high-tech innovation. It is truly remarkable that the biotechnology industry accounts for almost a third of the top 100 Swiss startups, showcasing the immense strength and impact of our sector.
In the Swiss Biotech Report 2025, patent experts Christel Aebischer-Gumy and Christian Moser Nikles from the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property IGE IPI, show that biotech articles from Swiss institutions are among the most cited globally, especially those with international co-authors. Two-third of Swiss biotech articles involve global partners, and the collaboration drives quality.
